In the spring of 2006 KLM this activation was launched to raise awareness for one of the four good causes KLM supports each year via its charity program KLM AirCares. Nature for Kids (NfK) was the charity chosen for the second quarter of 2006. NfK is a charity that uses film to teach environmental awareness to children growing up in East Africa and other regions where a prospering natural environment is key to survival.
Children’s TV presenter, Chris Silo, brought the story to life at an event on a children’s farm. The story was also displayed on a life size African hut which then went on a tour of 12 children’s farms in North Holland region. A survey carried out during the childerens farm tour revealed that the activities by KLM AirCares had a very positive effect on the company’s image.
